The Mission of Coventry Youth Soccer:
  • Foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of Coventry's youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of competition.

  • Provide equal playing opportunities for every child of appropriate age who wishes to play recreational soccer.

2013 & 2014

This co-ed program is held once per week and is designed for our youngest players, who are new to the game of soccer. Sessions will include fun and developmentally appropriate games (Red Light/Green Light, What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?, etc.) to introduce them to soccer basics, develop motor skills, and foster a love for the game.

Junior Instructional (6U)

2012 & 2013

This co-ed program is held once per week. Sessions will continue to include age appropriate games to encourage motor skill development, soccer basics, and  having FUN! In addition, instruction will also begin to incorporate specific soccer skills and rules of the game, beyond games found at the PeeWee level, to prepare players for small sided play at the next levels (dribbling around obstacles/cones, passing, touch drills, etc.).

7U Instructional

 

2011

This co-ed program is held once per week and is geared towards both new and experienced instructional players. Sessions will include age-appropriate activities designed to develop fundamental soccer skills (give and go passing, triangle formation, turning with the ball, positioning, defense, throw-ins, etc.) and an understanding of the rules of the game, all while having FUN!

7U/8U Recreational

(Bridge Years)

2010 & 2011

This program serves as a transition between Instructional level and 9U level soccer. It is designed for players who have already participated in Instructional soccer and would like to further develop their skills for play at higher levels.  This program includes 1 practice during the week AND 1 game (4v4) against surrounding towns on the weekend (travel required).

All fees listed above are for registrations submitted by 8/31/2017. Registrations received on or after 9/1/2017 will be subject to an additional $25.00 fee.

FALL 2017 9U-15U REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

9U-15U PLAYERS - FALL 2017 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

 

The following information is for ALL soccer players, born between 1/1/2003 and 12/31/2009, interested in playing soccer this fall.

 

REGISTRATION FEES:

  • Through 6/18/2017 = $75.00     
  • 6/19/2017 or Later = $100.00
  • Family Maximum = $200.00
  • Out of Town Players = $10.00 will be added to the fees above.

 

PLAYER EVALUATIONS:

Players are evaluated once annually for both the fall and spring seasons for all levels of soccer. To be considered for any 9U-15U soccer team, all players MUST complete registration and attend at least 1 evaluation session; however, attendance at multiple sessions is recommended. The results of each player's evaluation will determine team placement for D4/Competition level soccer, as well as create fair and balanced D5/Recreation level teams.

 

Evaluation Schedule:

1.  Sunday June 4, 2017 (Laidlaw Park) 

      5:00p-6:15p: Girls 

      6:30-7:45p: Boys 

2. Monday June 5, 2017 (Laidlaw Park)

     5:15p-6:30p: Boys

     6:45p-8:00p: Girls 

3. Monday June 19, 2017 (Laidlaw Park)

    6:15-7:30: Boys

4. Tuesday June 20, 2017 (Laidlaw Park)

    6:15-7:30: Girls 

 

ITEMS REQUIRED FOR EVALUATION*:

  • Copy of Player’s Birth Certificate (only if one has not been provided in the past)
  • Headshot of Player**

*   Both items can be uploaded at the time of online registration. Failure to provide the necessary documentation may result in forfeiture of consideration.

** If a photo is not uploaded at the time of online registration, one will be taken by a CSI Director during the evaluation sessions.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

  • In the event registered players cannot attend an evaluation session, they will automatically be placed on a D5/Recreation level team.
  • Families with outstanding balances will not be be allowed to register or participate in the evaluation process.
  • If payment is not received within 14 days following submission, we reserve the right to cancel your registration.

 

Coventry Soccer Inc. is operated entirely by volunteers. Without help from the members of the community, we would not be able to offer quality youth programming. Please consider volunteering and supporting youth soccer as a coach. You can indicate your coaching interest on the registration form or email   for more information.
